LOPEZ GOMEZ, José Manuel e LOPEZ LARA, Enrique Javier. Medidas contra la segmentación laboral en el contexto de la crisis en españa. Estud. - Cent. Estud. Av., Univ. Nac. Córdoba [online]. 2012, n.28, pp.15-32. ISSN 1852-1568.
We analyze the causes and characteristics of the fragmentation of the Spanish labor market and provide a critical analysis of the measures taken as alternatives. The emphasis is placed in the study of recent labor reforms and the discussion on the concept of «flexisecurity» that is driven from the European Union, as well as the single contract proposal. It is noted that these measures, far from ending the segmentation between stable and precarious work and move towards decent work, tend to turn precarious all the forms of work. This happens because that what used to be stable employment has also been relaxed, especially in dismissal regime. We conclude that these measures do not appear to be effective to curb the crisis and create jobs, as it provides jobs destruction to the point that a projected increase in the number of unemployed to 6,000,000 by 2013, over 26% of the workforce of the Spanish labor market.
