This article discusses a key critical and methodological moment in comparative literature: the moment in which a form or idea comes into contact with other forms or ideas, outside their initial contexts of production and their linguistic borders. The starting point is the idea that both the conditions of production and of circulation of knowledge necessarily modify the description of that moment of contact, thus requiring permanent contextualization, historicization and revision.
