The objective of this work is to determine the variation in the deposition of particulate matter on the margins of the forest, in order to verify the ecosystem service given by this physical barrier and its potential to filter suspended particulate matter. Therefore, during one month, the deposition of particle matter was analyzed upwind and downwind on the margins of a native forest remnant located in the periurban space of the city of Villa María, Córdoba, Argentina. A non-invasive methodological proposal was established for the natural environment, adapted from IRAM norm N° 29.299. The results indicate a significant difference in the collected particulate material between both margins of the native forest; also, the methodology shows to be efficient, economic, and replicable. This native forest fulfills the ecosystem service, highlighting the importance of the conservation of this ecoregion which is in danger of extinction in the country.
